Unfinished Business : A conversation with filmmaker Cyrille Vincent and special guests.
RAGBRAI 2023 was the longest, hottest and hilliest ride I have ever been part of. As a newbie, it was a brutal ride but will go in the book as one of my life's greatest experiences. I want to make sure I can share with you my story of the blood, sweat and tears shed during this unforgettable ride.

About the event
Two months before RAGBRAI (Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa), I decided to participate in the event as a weeklong rider to raise awareness and funds for a documentary I am making about Marshall Major Taylor who is considered to be perhaps the greatest cyclist of all time. With pretty much zero experience in the saddle, I started training, but did nothing crazy. The longest ride I was able to accomplish before RAGBRAI was a 25 mile ride. The RAGBRAI newbie group and my circle of friends encouraged me, because of that, I did pursue my decision to ride across Iowa.
I partnered with the Major Taylor Iowa Cycling Club which I had connections with. Sunnie, the founder of the MTIA club, had done RAGBRAI twice and had some experience that tremendously helped me during the ride.
Little did I know, I was in for one of my life's greatest experiences. I learned so much in a short amount of time and met the most vibrant souls in the world during this ride.
This experience has changed my life completely for the better and I would like to share my story with you.
During this conversation, I will bring on other people who participated in the ride to quickly share their take aways.
My hope is that you can join us to share your story with us as well. Also, if you have ever considered riding RAGBRAI this will be a great opportunity to learn from others. The reality is that everyone's experience is different and RAGBRAI is about riding your ride. There are plenty of dos and don'ts that can be helpful to know before embarking on this kind of journey. Maybe you can walk away with some great tips that can make your next endurance ride enjoyable.
