Nelson Vails
Nelson Vails is one of the most influential and iconic Americans road and track cyclists of all time.
Born and raised in Harlem, Nelson Vails rapidly became New York City's most famous bike messengers in the early 1980’s.
His resilience and skills on the bicycle led him ultimately to win the Silver Medal in track sprint at the 1984 Olympics Games in Los Angeles.
He developed a successful career as a professional cyclist, riding all over the world and competing against other champions from Europe, Australia, Japan and of course America.
He appeared in notable motion pictures such as Quicksilver, starring alongside Kevin Bacon.
Nicknamed ''The Cheetah'', Nelson Vails legacy continues to inspire generations of professional and amateur cyclists all over the world.
